Rubber Base: The Solution for Brittle Nails

Rubber Base: The Solution for Brittle Nails

If you struggle with weak and brittle nails that are prone to breaking, we have the solution for you! Rubber Base is a semi-permanent base with a thick, flexible texture that provides natural reinforcement and adds extra strength to fragile nails. It is used in semi-permanent manicures, gel and acrygel building techniques, as well as in the application of gelly tips.

It is available in many shades beyond the classic clear option. Its rubber-like elastic composition does not run and is very easy to apply on the nail. It can also be used to extend the natural nail by up to 2 millimeters. It is easy to remove and does not damage the natural nail plate. It creates a perfect, flexible base for a durable, long-lasting manicure.

The application of a semi-permanent base is an essential step for a manicure with strength and longevity. It prepares the natural nail for the proper adhesion of the following layers. More specifically, it creates an even surface on which semi-permanent polish, gel, or acrygel can bond. Additionally, it acts as a protective barrier, shielding the nail from pigments. Thanks to the elasticity of the Rubber Base, nails become more resistant to impact and are less likely to break.

Application

The application of Rubber Base is simple and does not require any special technique. Below are the steps you should follow:

  1. File your nails into the desired shape, buff them, and remove the cuticles.

  2. Prepare the natural nail plate. Remove oils using a Primer. Apply one layer to each nail and allow it to air-dry.

  3. Apply the semi-permanent Rubber Base. You can apply it in a thin to normal layer. You may apply a larger amount to achieve natural reinforcement, or even extend the nails by up to 2 millimeters using a nail form.

  4. Cure for 30 seconds in a UV/LED lamp or 2 minutes in a UV lamp.

  5. Apply the semi-permanent color of your choice in two layers, curing each layer separately. If the Rubber Base you used is colored, you may keep it as is without applying an additional color.

  6. Finish the process with a Top Coat. Apply one layer and cure for 60 seconds in a UV/LED lamp or 2 minutes in a UV lamp.

Application with Gelly Tips

As mentioned above, Rubber Base can also be used in the application of Gelly Tips. It is used instead of nail glue. Below is the application process:

  1. File your nails into the desired shape, buff them, and remove the cuticles.

  2. Prepare the natural nail plate. Remove oils using a Primer. Apply one layer to each nail and allow it to air-dry.

  3. Apply one layer of semi-permanent Rubber Base to the natural nail and cure for 30 seconds in a UV/LED lamp or 2 minutes in a UV lamp.

  4. Apply a layer of Rubber Base to the inner side of the gelly tip. Place it onto the natural nail and press until it fits properly and all air bubbles are removed. Press and simultaneously cure for 60 seconds in a mini LED lamp.

  5. Remove the shine from the surface of the gelly tips using a buffer and apply the semi-permanent color of your choice.
